Unfortunately, we are not able to grow dogwoods up in the Chicago area — too cold! Luckily, they were in full bloom while I was visiting over Easter weekend.
A little trivia, the flowering dogwood is the Missouri state tree.
The other reason I love those trees so much, is that the wrens build there nests there every spring. God, in His infinite wisdom, gave this tiny little bird the biggest, most beautiful song my ears have ever heard.
